OUR NETWORK
SAGORA Lease & Risk Management is a member-driven professional organisation. It was set up by Mathias Schmit and Marie-Paule Laurent and relies on a network of associates. The network aims at leveraging the extensive banking experience and strong analytical skills of its members.
Mathias Schmit has a PhD from the Solvay Business School. He worked previously at Leaseurope at head of economic affairs and acts now as an external advisor. He strongly contributed to a more suitable regulatory framework for the leasing industry regarding the implementation of Basel II accords in the EU. The EU specificities lead to several hundred millions euros of capital savings for the European leasing industry.
Marie-Paule Laurent also has a PhD from the Solvay Business School. Over the last year, she has worked on the optimisation of regulatory capital by segmentation and on the recovery process. She has been conducting methodology and model validations for large Groups in France and the Benelux, advising them upon models optimisation and performing benchmarking. She is currently working on model validation for international banks which have adopted the IRB approaches (Basel II).
SAGORA also relies on a consultative committee of whom members are academics in various fields (finance, economics, statistics, strategy, etc…) and professionals at the highest level in the financial industry. The purpose of this committee is to generate on-going exchanges with people coming out from different horizons to contribute at the definitions of best practices in applying risk management framework.
